Social value isn't a nice-to-have. It's scored.
Central government tenders already give social value a minimum 10% weighting under the Social Value Model. From January 2027, PPN 026 raises that to at least 20% on contracts over £5m, with the focus on good jobs and skills. And the wider policy direction matches: the government is putting technical and vocational education on equal footing with academic routes, from age 14. Sponsored hands-on STEM in the contract's communities is exactly the kind of committed, reportable activity evaluators ask for.
Under the government's Social Value Model: PPN 002 today, PPN 026 from 1 January 2027.
Skills
The model asks for activity that addresses skills shortages, especially for people facing barriers. That's our whole job, from KS2 to adult learning.
Breaking down barriers
No-experience-assumed sessions in the communities your contract touches: schools, libraries, community groups and 18 to 24 year olds.
Good jobs & growth
Technical skills are the national priority: vocational learning from age 14, with parity alongside academic routes. Sponsoring it puts your name on the direction of travel.
We shape each sponsorship around the commitments in your bid, then report against them: learner numbers, photos and a delivery summary. Not bidding on anything? Foundations, trusts and philanthropists sponsor the same programmes for the impact alone.
